Missing our friend and colleague, Bernie …
We at Marshall Institute have lost a dear friend and great employee. On December 26th, Bernie (Bernadette) Andrews passed away unexpectedly, at the too young age of 50.
Bernie touched the lives of many; if you have received a manual from Marshall Institute in the past 10 years, you have been touched by Bernie as well. She printed and packed our books and materials with the greatest care and professionalism. If I was off site distributing materials and missing a manual or pen, I always knew that it was never Bernie’s mistake in packing; it was always that I had miscounted or just overlooked the item in the box of materials.
Our lives are better for having had the chance to share the road with Bernie for the past 10 years. We will miss her, but choose to remember her wonderful cooking skills, lively political debates, the bountiful garden harvest that she so generously shared, and most of all, her friendship.
Thanks, Bernie for choosing to share your life with us. While we all have sorrow now, we are better for having had the chance to know you as a friend and team member.
